Memory and workflows: deliver output where work happens

Most AI-generated output requires manual transfer into the system where the work happens. A contract review lands in a chat window; the lawyer copies it into the contract management system. Organizations extracting the most value build automated pipelines from AI output to downstream systems.

Persistent context files
CLAUDE.md files load automatically by directory: user-level for preferences, project-level for team conventions, directory-level for task requirements. No manual configuration between sessions.
Three interface modes
Chat for decisions. Code for repos and infrastructure. Cowork for documents, spreadsheets, and reports written directly to desktop folders. Each reduces the manual transfer step.
Pipeline to system of record
Match each workflow to the interface that delivers closest to where work happens. Extend with MCP connectors where output needs to reach systems the interface cannot write to directly.

The gap between generating a useful answer and delivering it where work happens is where the productivity upside lives.
